Vietnam Electricity donates VND30 billion to the COVID-19 Vaccine Fund

On 28 May 2021, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Health (MoH) (Hanoi), Vietnam Electricity (EVN) General Director Tran Dinh Nhan, on behalf of EVN donated VND30 billion to the COVID-19 Vaccine Fund.

Currently, COVID-19 pandemic developments are complicated in many countries around the world, including Vietnam. The Politburo and the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee have had the policy to buy pandemic prevention vaccines for people in the whole country. The Government also issued Resolution No. 09/NQ-CP dated 18 May 2021 on purchase of COVID-19 vaccines, which assigned the MoH to urgently organize the purchase of vaccines for implementing mass vaccination of the people.

In addition to using VND12,100 billion from 2020 spending savings to buy vaccines, on 26 May 2021, the Prime Minister also issued a Decision to establish a COVID-19 Vaccine Fund to mobilize social resources to fight the COVID-19 pandemic together.
